IL: Where has Childhood Gone? A discussion about the changing experiences of youth in Chicago.

Time:
6PM
Venue:

Jane Addams Hull-House Museum
800 S. Halsted St., Chicago, IL 60607

Description:

If you work or care for youth, come join us for dinner to discuss the institutions that are affecting the youth experience in Chicago as a part of Chicago Community Trust's On The Table forum. Educators, community organizers, and people working within the juvenile justice system will facilitate a conversation that will explore juvenile justice, education and newfound pressures for today’s children. Youth will also participate in the conversation.

Click here to RSVP. Limited seats will be available.

We invite you to connect and share stories from your own experiences. Inspired by Hull-House Settlement’s efforts to create space for kids to be kids, the conversation is meant to foster an environment that holistically acknowledges the circumstances for youth in Chicago and the systems that have placed childhood on the bargaining table. We value the input of parents and other members of the community.

This event is organized in conjunction with the opening of Jane Addams Hull-House Museum's next exhibition States of Incarceration.
