LA: Mass Story Lab: New Orleans

Time:
1PM to 4PM
Venue:

Café Reconcile
1631 Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard
New Orleans, LA 70113

Description:

A staggering 2. 7 million children have a parent in prison. The deep consequences of incarceration on our communities begin with the family, often having long-lasting effects on our children. The costs of a parent’s incarceration are emotional as much as they are economic, and can no longer be ignored. It’s time that we listen to their stories. Join us for this special storytelling event in New Orleans to amplify the voices of families rising above the consequences of incarceration each day. Through storytelling, dialogue, and community design we will envision a future beyond prisons. This event is in collaboration with The University of New Orleans's Midlo Center, Humanities Action Lab's States of Incarceration, and Cafe Reconcile.
