Prisons are dangerous places, and they harm people, both inside and outside their physical boundaries. Some of those people inside are my friends, and the prison system is hurting them.
We have so many prisons, and as a trans person I still don't feel safe in society. Prisons don't protect me.

I believe as a youth they might have made me feel safe knowing there was a system in place for "punishment" but now being an educated critical thinker that I am. I realize that mentality was taught. I realize the truth is punishment doesn't heal. It traumatizes.
