Letters from Detained Women on Hunger Strike

“I have been separated from my friends. They have me in a very cold room, alone, they follow me as if I had done a felony, like a criminal. I feel that they are treating me with injustice. I have a person behind me like a shadow following me since yesterday (Saturday 21/10/15 3:00 pm). They have me in punishment, they are very cruel and mean.” Courtesy of: Grassroots Leadership and EndFamilyDetention.org

“..The only bad thing was crossing the river and asking for help but I was judged and punished two days in the icebox, two days in Hidalgo, three days in Laredo, and I am still being punished. I don’t know why because I have never committed a crime in this country, I haven’t killed, robbed, I don’t deserve this suffering” Courtesy of: Grassroots Leadership and EndFamilyDetention.org

“...I don’t have anyone to support me and I feel so sick because I live with migraines, with stomachache because every day they give us the same [food]. They don’t treat us good, they make us go eat. I have so many scars from rashes and we don’t get good medicine” Courtesy of: Grassroots Leadership and EndFamilyDetention.org
