Description: 

Dr. Heather A. Thompson from the University of Michigan will talk about her 2017 Pulitzer Prizing winning book, Blood in the Water: The Attica Prison Uprising of 1971 and Its Legacy. Thompson has written extensively on the history of policing, mass incarceration and the current criminal justice system.
