The Spring 2026 undergraduate students in ENGL 221 Field Studies in Writing worked with local nonprofits Salvavision and the Florence Immigration and Refugee Rights project to learn about migration and immigration detention in Arizona. They also read the oral histories from the Detained Project: Voices from the Immigrant Detention System. They produced the zine 3 Myths at the Border as well as the messages of hope project, which allowed people to scan a code and upload a message to be shared with incarcerated migrants.
