Artist Statement:

My piece symbolizes the enslavement of one’s own mind. A mind so engulfed in pain and sorrow that it won’t allow the beauties of life in. Even doing a life sentence one can open their mind to the joys of the world and not continue to entrap themselves with their guilt and despair.
