States of Incarceration on display at Michigan History Center.

A local Michigan Public School student contributes to the exhibition's interactive component. Students make up the majority of visitors to the Michigan History Center, who facilitated the incorporation of the history of incarceration into their Michigan-centered curriculum.

A camera used by Reimund Holzhey at Marquette Prison to take pictures of buildings, grounds, staff, and mug shots of inmates.

A showcase of a slipe worn by young girls as uniform at one of the Michigan's 20th century Native American boarding schools on display as a part of the Michigan History Center's accompanying exhibition on the history of incarceration in Michigan.

A lab coat and chair once used by Michigan History Center, manufactured by incarcerated workers at Jackson prison in the late twentieth century. These products were used to interrogate the Center's relationship to incarceration in the past and present.
